Description

This incredible vintage black knit Adolfo dress was purchased at Saks Fifth Avenue in the 1970’s. The dress has an Edwardian style, with a high neck collar and long sleeves. The illusion bodice has black sheer netting with beautiful, delicate roses in the lace. Black lace ruffles extend below the top of the bodice, above the collar and around the cuffs. The cuffs also have pretty satin ribbon ties. The dress closes with a back zipper and two hooks and eyes at the neck.

We really love Adolfo Sardina, who started his career as an apprentice to Balenciaga and went on to become a milliner before eventually designing clothing. We are always happy to come across his pieces, and are so happy to see that many fashion collectors are rediscovering his incredible talent.

We estimate this dress to be a modern day US size 6 but please use the measurements as a guide for the best fit.
