This very rare vintage Claude Montana Pour Ideal Cuir black leather jacket is a museum quality piece that exemplifies Claude Montana's surgical proficiency with leather techniques. This outstanding smooth, supple black lambskin leather jacket was featured on the Fall Winter 1987 Claude Montana runway and it is as relevant today as it was over 30 years ago! Be sure to ake a close look at the padded leather strips that create the "spines" in the open work!

Claude Montana honed his leather techniques while working in Paris for Ideal Cuir and Mac Douglas leather in the early to mid 1970's. Leather became one of the materials he became known for as he handled it as an artist would when making a sculpture. This jacket is an iconic Montana piece that is not only ready to wear, but highly collectible.
