It's almost that time of year! Time to put away the gray and browns from that cold winter and bring out the pinks, blues, yellows and greens of Spring!  We love Spring at Dressing Vintage because it's a great time to showcase all of the amazing vintage dresses that are bursting with flowers and made from every shade of pastel fabric you could imagine! If you like sweet florals, you might like the first vintage dress with its pink sash!  If you love roses, then the 1950's vintage dress that Sarah is wearing would be perfect! If you prefer multi colored florals, then the vintage Lanz dress would be just right for you!  We even have Spring accessories to coordinate with whatever dress you choose!

If shades of pink and blue bring out your eyes, you are in luck - we have a lot of options! Do you love the 1920's? Then the smock pleated embroidered vintage 20s dress shown above is for you!  Are you looking for a pretty cotton vintage dress under $100? The Nelly Don pink vintage dress with puff sleeves is a dream!  If you prefer skirts, then the lace over blue vintage skirt with the blue vintage blouse would make you twirl! Do you want a sopisticated vintage designer ensemble? Then look no further than the blue Vintage Givenchy Dress and Coat ensemble. You can find just about everything for that Spring easter egg hunt or brunch with friends on the Dressing Vintage website.

If yellow or white are just the right colors for your skin tone, you might fall in love with these pieces! These breezy yellow cotton dresses are timeless - the Betty Barclay vintage dress has white rick rack trim and the yellow eyelet vintage Jerry Gilden dress  has just a touch of blue! I particularly love the dress that Sarah is modeling - a 2 piece white cotton pique Vintage Carlye dress with peek a boo lace at the waistline!

Is purple your color? You might love this sleeveless vintage J. Harlan 1950's cotton dress or you might want to try this vintage Valentino purple linen 2 piece dress. If you are brave enough to wear some bold florals that pop like this vintage Tina Leser jumpsuit that Gabby is wearing, then wear it with confidence - you are surely to be the only one wearing it at the party!

Inventing Amy Winehouse - The Genius Behind The Beehive

The Movie "AMY" has been much more successful than most people predicted it would be.  I saw it the week it opened because I've long been a fan of her music and closely followed the painfully sad trajectory of her life. When most people think of Amy Winehouse, they don't think of the pretty girl from [...]

Let’s Play! Why I miss vintage playsuits and swimwear ensembles

1951 Vogue magazine Summer is just around the corner.  For a lot of women, that really just means putting away their coats, wool clothing and boots and bringing out cottons, shorts and sandals.  Some women live in warm places where that transition isn’t as important and their wardrobes last year round. But early to mid 20th century [...]

Happy Birthday Howard Greer - The designer of tabletop dresses and Edith Head's first Hollywood Boss

One of my favorite designers, Howard Greer would have celebrated his 119th birthday today! Greer was a fashion designer and a Hollywood costume designer who began his career working for Lucile (Lady Duff Gordon), in 1916, in the New York and Chicago branches of her shop. It's interesting to note, that Vera West, the costume [...]

Elegance – the fashionable words of Genevieve Antoine Dariaux

Grace Kelly Some women are simply elegant.  I mean, they could be wearing shorts, jeans, or a towel on their heads, and somehow, they still look chic.  Do you know women like that? Grace Kelly was one of those women, as was the it girl herself, Audrey Hepburn. Audrey Hepburn lounging elegantly I have [...]

Vintage Easter Photographs

I am slightly obsessed with vintage holiday photographs. I love them all; the adorable, the fashionable, the silly, the elegant and even the “so weird they’re almost scary” photos.  In honor of Peter Cottontail hopping down the bunny trail tomorrow – I thought I would share some of my favorites!  1930’s vintage Easter photo [...]

Actresses Heiresses Debutantes and the Stylish Elite at El Morocco New York

Audrey Hepburn at El Morocco in 1952 with then fiance James Hanson Sometimes, I wish I could travel back in time.  I wouldn’t want to STAY in the past, the medical care and women’s rights issues make me happier to be alive today, but I would just like to visit. I would go directly to Paris to see [...]
